can i still use the hand blender when making cookies?

because the recipe says to cream the butter with the hand mixer but i only have a hand blender. is it okay if i use the hand blender instead?

When my mother got married in the early 80s, she received an Oster machine that had interchangeable parts for a blender and food processor, and when you put a contraption on the top, it also was a food mixer. I’ve looked in stores and on the internet (including the Oster website) and I can’t find anything like this; there are only blender/food processors or mixers.

Thanks.

I don’t have a nut chopper. I could do it by hand on the cutting board but I have been wondering if one of the above machines would work well for that purpose.

Thanks for any suggestions.
